Hoschton’s housing stock spans historic downtown homes with outdated wiring and smaller panels to modern subdivisions in communities like Riverbend and Hamilton Ridge. Older homes, especially those built before the 1970s, may still have knob-and-tube wiring, ungrounded outlets, or 60- to 100-amp panels that struggle under today’s loads. Georgia adopted the 2023 NEC effective January 1, 2025, so any new installation or major renovation permitted after that date must meet updated safety standards.
We specialize in whole-home generator installation, EV charger setup, accessibility-focused electrical upgrades, and new construction wiring throughout Hoschton and Jackson County. Whether you are building a custom home on a larger rural lot, adding a Level 2 EV charger in a newer subdivision, or installing a standby generator to protect against Georgia’s frequent storm-season outages, our licensed team handles the permitting, installation, and final inspection. We also help homeowners in active adult communities like Del Webb Chateau Elan add accessibility features such as motion-sensor lighting, smart switches, and whole-home surge protection.
We always give you transparency pricing and take the time to discuss your home or business’ unique electrical challenges so you can make the best decision possible.
You can count on us to deliver same-day service and high-quality craftmanship backed with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
We deliver exceptional work and our Lawrenceville electricians care about your comfort and safety.
We have used several other companies but will not ever again.
We received a bad inspection report for our panel when we were trying to sell our home. Kalahari came in and went over the report. We looked over and signed a moderately priced quote. Then they set off to do the work to tidy up the panel a bit and swap out breakers. Once into it they decide they would rewire the whole thing. They did not charge extra and were still in and out fast. We have used several other companies but will not ever again.

He came out the same day/stayed until midnight to get it fixed.
Excellent customer service is hard to find these days; however, Jan has it down to an art form. I had company in from out of town during the 105 degree days and he came out the same day/stayed until midnight to get it fixed and he was leaving for vacation the next day…not to mention the rates were very reasonable. I will never use another electrician. Jan far exceeded my expectations and that is saying a lot. He even called to follow-up and make sure there were no issues. FIRST CLASS SERVICE!

Yes. Most significant electrical work, including new circuits, panel upgrades, generator hookups, and EV charger installations, requires a permit. Your permit comes from either the City of Hoschton or the Jackson County Building Department depending on your property address. A licensed electrician can help determine the correct jurisdiction.
Start with a professional safety inspection to check for knob-and-tube wiring, ungrounded outlets, and undersized panels. Common priorities include upgrading to a 200-amp panel, replacing outdated wiring, adding GFCI protection in kitchens and bathrooms, and installing whole-home surge protection to guard against Georgia’s frequent lightning strikes.
Absolutely. A Level 2 EV charger requires a dedicated 240-volt circuit and a permit. We assess your panel’s capacity, install the charger, and handle the permitting process. If your panel is at capacity, we can discuss an upgrade to support the additional load safely.
A standby generator connects to your electrical panel through an automatic transfer switch so it starts within seconds of an outage. The project requires a permit, a concrete or composite pad, coordination with Jackson EMC, and a fuel source such as natural gas or propane. We handle the full installation and inspection process.
Yes. Georgia’s spring-through-fall thunderstorm season brings frequent lightning strikes and utility surges. A whole-home surge protector is installed at your electrical panel and helps shield all connected electronics and appliances. It works best when paired with point-of-use surge strips for sensitive equipment.
It is very possible. Many older Hoschton homes have 100-amp panels that were not designed for today’s heavy AC loads, large appliances, and electronics. An electrical inspection can confirm whether a panel upgrade to 200 amps will solve the tripping and improve safety.
We install motion-sensor lighting, lighted switches, smart home controls that work by voice or app, lower outlet and switch placement, and backup power solutions. These upgrades make daily life easier for aging-in-place homeowners and residents in 55-plus communities like Del Webb Chateau Elan.
Georgia adopted the 2023 National Electrical Code with an effective date of January 1, 2025. Any new electrical installation or major renovation permitted on or after that date in Hoschton must comply with the updated requirements. Your licensed electrician should ensure all work meets the current code.
Jackson EMC, Hoschton’s primary electric utility, has historically offered rebates on upgrades like smart thermostats, heat pump water heaters, and sometimes EV charger installations. Rebate programs and amounts change, so check the Jackson EMC website or call their customer service for the latest eligibility details.
It depends on whether your home is within the Hoschton city limits or in unincorporated Jackson County. The simplest way to confirm is to check your property address with either the City of Hoschton Planning and Zoning Department or the Jackson County Building Department. Your electrician can also verify this before starting the permit application.
